When: Check-in and late registration 6:00 a.m. Race Start 7:00 a.m. Awards and door-prize ceremony will begin at 8:15 a.m. Course will officially close at 8:30 a.m. More info at www.wikiwikirun.com
What: A5K for runners and walkers of all skill levels, and a 10K for runners only. Try it – you’ll like it! It’s a challenge!
Individual or Team categories. Teams must be at least 4 members. Team members must sign up individually and submit team name where instructed on the registration form. Average time of top 4 team finishers determines the “Team time”. Teams must participate in same distance for times to be averaged together. PARTICIPANTS WILL MEET AT ISLAND GROCERY DEPOT AT 58 KUPUOHI ST, LAHAINA, THEN BE ESCORTED TO THE RACE COURSE START/FINISH LINE ON THE OLD SUGAR CANE HAUL ROAD.
COURSE:
MEET AT ISLAND GROCERY DEPOT, LAHAINA , 58 KUPUOHI ST
AT 7:00, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ESCORTED TO THE OLD SUGAR CANE HAUL ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 1OO YARDS AWAY, WHERE THE START AND FINISH LINE ARE. PLEASE WALK ON THE SIDEWALK AND NOT IN THE ROADWAY. WE WILL CROSS KEAWE ST AT THE CROSSWALK, BUT TRAFFIC WILL NOT BE STOPPED. PLEASE PRCOEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
THE COURSE RUNS NORTHBOUND ON THE OLD SUGAR CANE HAUL ROAD WITH A CLEARLY MARKED TURNAROUND FOR 5K PARTICIPANTS, WHERE THEY WILL TURN AROUND AND RETURN THE SAME WAY THEY CAME. 10K PARTICIPANTS WILL PROCEED ON FURTHER, FOLLOWING THE NORTHBOUND COURSE ON THE OLD SUGAR CANE HAUL ROAD, AND TURN AROUND AT THE CLEARLY MARKED 10K TURNAROUND POINT, RETURNING ON THE OUT-AND-BACK COURSE.
WATER IS PROVIDED AT THE STAGING AREA OF ISLAND GROCERY DEPOT, AS WELL AS THE START/FINISH LINE, AND BOTH TURNAROUND POINTS.
UPON FINISHING THE RACE, PLEASE SAFELY RETURN TO ISLAND GROCERY DEPOT, TAKING CARE TO CROSS KEAWE STREET AT THE DESIGNATED CROSSWALK. AGAIN, SAFETY IS VERY IMPORTANT AS THE ROADWAY WILL REMAIN OPEN TO TRAFFIC.
AWARDS AND DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS WILL BE HELD AT ISLAND GROCERY DEPOT STARTING AT 8:15 A.M.
